A core mission of Civic Technologists is to support governments in delivering better services to citizens. Krzysztof presents the experience of ePaństwo Foundation in both researching and developing models of collaboration between Civic Tech groups and their governmental counterparts.

The presentation draws on case studies of collaboration between Civic Tech organisations and governments across and beyond Central and Eastern Europe, some of which are described in the recent report Mapping Digital Social Innovation: Digital Democracy, and many of which were gathered at the Code for All 2018 Summit.

In some countries, especially those with more autocratic governments, traditional models are not effective at improving institutional performance, and actual impact on citizens is often very limited. ePaństwo are testing new models and already seeing promising outcomes.
