TICTeC 2025 was more than a conference — it was a laboratory of hope.
Our challenges are shared, and so are the solutions.Miguel Alor, Plaza Civica (Peru)
It’s so nice to see that we are not alone with our problems, and that we can look for the common solutions, and that is possible to have some real change.
As always, it was a chance to think deeply about important issues, make great connections, and have fun with amazing civic tech colleagues from around the world.
The conversations were both sobering and energising – exactly what our field needs right now. The parallel sessions were incredibly rich. I wished I could have attended them all!
I was again deeply moved by the breadth of global civic tech thinking. This community continues to push what democracy looks like in the digital age.
Richard Gevers, Open Cities Lab (South Africa)

Supporting mySociety — and promoting the inclusion of Global South civic tech organisations in its TICTeC global community — has been a deeply satisfying experience for me as a grantmaker.
Enrique Escobar, National Endowment for Democracy (USA)

This was my first TICTeC — and certainly not my last. I left inspired by the energy, the ideas, and the people driving them forward.
Josef Lentsch, political entrepreneur (Germany)
Very well organised and very inspiring. The presentations were very useful and I treasure the engagements I had.
I’m grateful for the energy, the open exchanges, and the motivation to keep pushing forward tech for democracy.
I think it might be the greatest quality conference I’ve experienced for this whole year so far.
It’s more than just catching up on trends or presenting work; it’s about connecting with my tribe – a global community united by a shared passion for technology and its impact.
Thanisara Ruangdej (GG), WeVis (Thailand)
It was truly an unforgettable experience – filled with inspiring conversations, brilliant minds, and shared commitment to shaping tech that strengthens democracy.
It was incredibly inspiring to connect with changemakers and innovators from around the world who are using technology to catalyse, sustain, and protect democracy in creative and impactful ways.
Learning from and bonding with civic tech friends and colleagues from all over the world is a much needed respite from the current events directly affecting our lives and our work.
It’s reignited my passion: when you’re alone in a very difficult, challenging place around civic tech and politics, you forget the opportunities and how to overcome the challenges.
Caroline Khene, Institute of Development Studies (UK)

I found someone at TICTeC 2025 who’s going to provide a PhD student to work on our AI tool for writing appeals for FOIA denials, to help citizens and journalists to get the information they seek to keep public authorities accountable.
After connecting with one of the TICTeC 2024 keynote speakers, we have worked with their Latin American team to create digital tools for detecting cross-border corruption.
After hearing of similar projects at TICTeC 2024, we developed a platform designed to guide Pakistani citizens through the Constitution and laws of Pakistan to advance citizen participation and understanding.
TICTeC remains my favorite conference. You always pull out all the stops to bring together an impressive and kind community.
Matt Stempeck, Civic Tech Field Guide (Portugal)
