TICTeC Communities of Practice

During 2024 and 2025, we will be convening TICTeC Communities of Practice – focused around mySociety’s work in Access to Information, and Parliamentary Monitoring.

This project is funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

After twenty years of mySociety, and approaching ten years of TICTeC – we want to think about what is needed to match the big challenges of the next twenty years.

During 2024 and 2025, we will be convening TICTeC Communities of Practice – focused around our work in Access to Information, and Parliamentary Monitoring.

These will be a series of online workshops and seminars, bringing together practitioners in similar areas of work to raise questions that feed into our conferences, and create spaces for both learning practical lessons that can be applied now, as well as long term reflection on our collective work.

Through these groups we want to:

  • create and strengthen relationships between practitioners working in similar areas.
  • allow participants to share learning, dig deeper into thorny issues and have open, honest conversations
  • help the dissemination of knowledge and resources, including through the TICTeC conferences.

Working with the Civic Tech Field Guide, we are reaching out to a global range of organisations. We want to fulfill a slightly different role to regional networks – and are working to understand what’s most useful. We are currently reaching out for feedback and expressions of interest about being a part of these communities.

If you’re interested in joining a TICTeC Community of Practice or would like to hear more, then do please email tictec@mysociety.org.
