As the lead for mySociety’s Climate programme, Zarino is responsible for defining the programme strategy and working closely with the team to deliver simple, impactful services around local responses to the climate emergency.

He’s also mySociety’s longest serving designer, weaving in user research, prototyping, visual design, and frontend development, to make sure all of our products are beautiful, simple, and delightful to use.

Zarino has a background in communication studies and social science. His MSc at the Oxford Internet Institute saw him analysing everything from online privacy law and micro-economics to participation and power around open government data.

Before joining mySociety in April 2014, he served as VP of Product at data-munching web startup ScraperWiki.

When he’s not working on mySociety projects, he blogs on design and technology, organises the Liverpool chapter of the Awesome Foundation, and thinks about joining the gym.

Zarino is one of mySociety’s qualified Mental Health First Aiders, helping to support, reassure and signpost fellow colleagues to professional support.
