Paul Sharratt is responsible for research at the Sovereign Tech Fund, focusing on digital infrastructure and open source ecosystems within the broader scope of technology development in the public interest.

The Sovereign Tech Fund is a public organization backed by the German government, dedicated to investing in open-source infrastructure to support and enhance public interest technologies. Its primary mission is to strengthen digital sovereignty across individuals, industries, and governmental bodies through the self-determined use of technology. Paul’s work involves researching and documenting the impacts of the Sovereign Tech Fund’s investments on open-source digital infrastructure projects.

Prior to joining the Sovereign Tech Fund, Paul worked as a digitalisation consultant at Deutsche Bahn and as a product manager for various start-ups. He holds a Master of Science in Data Science for Public Policy from the Hertie School.
