Lauren Wool is a data scientist in the City Intelligence Unit at the Greater London Authority, leading data analysis for the Authority’s High Streets Data Service (HSDS). The HSDS is a collective data sharing partnership that acquires city-wide consumer data on behalf of stakeholders in London’s local authorities and business improvement districts to generate local insights on the health and function of London’s high streets.

As lead data scientist in the HSDS, Lauren’s role is a mix of providing bespoke analyses and expertise on specific local projects, interpreting data for both technical and nontechnical audiences, and creating large-scale data tools that can be used by the community at large.

Prior to the HSDS, Lauren worked as a research scientist in behavioural neuroscience at University College London. She was also a member of the International Brain Laboratory, where she organised large-scale decentralised scientific collaborations and studied the structure and dynamics of research teams.
