Jesper has over a decade of experience developing and implementing communication strategy for organizations spanning advocacy, politics, and international development. He currently serves as the technology project manager for the National Democratic Institute. In this role, Jesper oversees and develops timelines, budgets, work plans and tracks tasks and deliverables for technology-related projects. This role is the primary point of contact among the DemTech team, internal software developers and engineers, and external consultants.
As a member of NDI’s DemTech team, he has helped to develop DemTools, a library of software, approaches, toolkits and guides for the democracy community, and DemCloud,a cloud-hosting service that DemTech provides to NDI staff and partners. Jesper provides ongoing support and training to NDI staff and partners on the Civi DemTool.
Jesper earned his master’s degree in public administration from Columbia University. While at Columbia, he led a consulting project for the Council on Foreign Relations, where he helped develop an automated tool for tracking service delivery protests in South Africa using online news. Jesper also consulted with an ecotourism microenterprise on the Colombian Pacific coast. For three months, he worked closely with the rural community to develop a website that has helped promote the area to tourists and raise the profile of the microenterprise within the local tourism industry.
